Mitch Evans is one of the most ingrained names in European open-wheel racing outside of Formula 1, and now his brother Simon will join the fray via Jaguar's new single-make series.
Set to start at the end of this year, the Jaguar I-Pace eTrophy will pit an international assortment of drivers against each other in racing variants of the company's EV SUVs.

“My brother races in Formula E and I’ve been following it for a few years now; it’s exciting, it’s definitely the future so it’s great to be involved," said Simon Evans.
In the build-up to round one, Evans posted that he was impressed with how the eTrophy-spec I-Pace handled — having taken part in the category's 'acclimatisation test' at Silverstone in the UK.
"The car exceeded all my expectations, it was really nice to drive and the braking performance is really good," he said.
"Having my brother there will be great too — we’ll be supporting each other and he’ll definitely be pushing me on.”
The older of the two Evans brothers enters the series off a productive and successful stint campaigning in the BNT V8s and across New Zealand's endurance racing circuit. Both of which have earned the 27-year-old numerous titles.
This also isn't his first experience racing in Europe in a single-make class, having previously made a cameo in the Audi TT Sport Cup.
Evans was confirmed as a driver in the Jaguar series alongside fellow fresh announcements Cacá Bueno and Sérgio Jiminez. They join the likes of Katherine Legge and Bryan Sellers in the growing driver line-up, with teams from China, the Middle East, and Europe set to be announced in the coming weeks and months.
