Captain America joins Wrangler special.

Captain America joins Wrangler special.

  • Jeep’s America250 Edition is based on the Wrangler Willys trim.
  • The US$2095 package adds Captain America-inspired exterior and cabin details.
  • Jeep and Marvel will promote Avengers: Doomsday later this year.

Jeep has rolled out a fresh special-edition Wrangler with a very star-spangled brief, teaming with Marvel for the 2026 Wrangler America250 Edition.

The model marks the United States’ 250th anniversary and forms part of Jeep’s Twelve 4 Twelve campaign. It also leans hard into the brand’s new Marvel tie-up, with Captain America as the obvious co-star. Both Jeep and the superhero date back to 1941, which is tidy marketing maths, if nothing else.

Shield on the spare

The America250 Edition is based on the Wrangler Willys trim and adds a package priced at US$2095 (around NZ$3500). It is due to arrive at dealers in the northern summer, though DRIVEN Car Guide understands Jeep has not disclosed wider market availability yet.

Visual changes do most of the heavy lifting. The Wrangler gains hood and body-side graphics, America250 badging, a flag decal and a limited-edition spare tyre cover inspired by Captain America’s shield. The model also gets blue wheels with BFGoodrich tyres, plus a Jean Blue soft top, rock rails and body-colour fender flares.

Red, white and very blue

Inside, Jeep has fitted blue seats similar to those seen in the Wrangler Rockslide, but with America250 logos and red-and-white contrast stitching. That stitching also appears on the steering wheel, dashboard, shifter and transfer case.

Other cabin details include red seatbelts, all-weather floor mats, anodised carbon trim and an America250 keychain.

The familiar 12.3-inch Uconnect 5 infotainment system carries over, and the source material suggests it could feature a special splash screen.

DRIVEN understands Jeep has not disclosed any mechanical changes or engine output for the America250 Edition yet. For now, this appears to be a styling-led package rather than a powertrain upgrade.

Marvel gets muddy

The Jeep and Marvel partnership goes beyond the vehicle itself. Buyers of the special edition will receive a reprinted comic book with an original illustrated limited-edition cover featuring Jeep and Captain America.

A 50-second “Origin Story” video will also run on social media, followed later in the year by a co-branded marketing campaign linked to Avengers: Doomsday, which is scheduled for release on December 18.

It is not subtle, then. But subtle was probably never the point of a Wrangler wearing a superhero shield on its spare wheel.
