From hot hatch to track beast - this GR Yaris is all about presence.

From hot hatch to track beast - this GR Yaris is all about presence.

Japanese tuner Result Japan has taken the already aggressive Toyota GR Yaris and transformed it into something even more extreme.

With a dramatic widebody kit, striking aerodynamic upgrades and a highly unconventional exhaust setup, this modified GR Yaris looks almost unrecognisable.

Result Japan showcased this radical GR Yaris at the Tokyo Auto Salon, sharing the stage with Toyota Gazoo Racing’s mid-engined GR Yaris prototype.

Ultra-wide stance and aero upgrades

At first glance, Result Japan’s GR Yaris appears straight out of a digital render, but it’s a fully functional build.

The most striking modification is the ultra-wide fender extensions, which push the front out by 90mm and the rear by a staggering 130mm. This gives the compact hot hatch a stance closer to a high-performance supercar, while integrated vents add a motorsport-inspired aesthetic.

The package doesn’t stop at widened fenders. A large front splitter, vented bonnet, and aggressive side skirts complement the broader proportions, while the rear end receives an even more dramatic transformation.

A half-spoiler is seamlessly integrated into the boot lid and for those wanting extra downforce, an optional GT-style wing can be fitted.

The reworked rear bumper features additional air intakes and a redesigned diffuser with aerodynamic extensions.

Wild exhaust setup

One of the most attention-grabbing features of this GR Yaris is its exhaust system.

The demo vehicle is equipped with quad tailpipes featuring a burnished finish, but what truly stands out are the extra pipes protruding through holes in the rear bumper.

Whether these additional pipes serve any real function or are purely for visual effect is unclear, but they undeniably enhance the car’s head-turning appeal.

Pricing and availability

For enthusiasts looking to replicate this look, Result Japan’s body kit is available for order now, with deliveries expected between March and April 2025.

Pricing starts at ¥594,000 (NZ$6,900) for the base kit, while optional extras include a vented bonnet (¥99,000 or NZ$1150), ‘eyelid’ headlight trims (¥13,200 or NZ$150), and the GT-style rear wing (¥198,000 or NZ$2,300).

The wheels and exhaust system, as seen on the demo car, are not included in the standard kit.

Interestingly, the demo vehicle is based on a pre-facelift GR Yaris, proving that the visual upgrades are compatible with earlier models as long as they incorporate the facelifted front bumper.

For those preferring a more restrained aesthetic, Result Japan also offers a milder version without the extreme widebody extensions, as well as an alternative rear wing design.

With its outrageous design and track-ready modifications, Result Japan’s GR Yaris pushes the boundaries of what’s possible with the rally-bred hot hatch. Whether it’s the ultimate GR Yaris is up for debate, but it’s certainly the most visually striking one yet.
