Holden is the first carmaker to reveal new models ahead of Fieldays next week with a distinctive rural and Kiwi theme.

Select media were invited to Holden Ambassador and Rugby World Cup winning All Black Steven Donald’s home to witness the local reveal of the Acadia, a large executive styled seven-seat SUV, and the world premiere of the Colorado Xtreme ute, a new creation exclusive to the New Zealand market that was inspired by the original Xtreme Concept displayed at Fieldays two years earlier.

Both models will be revealed to the New Zealand public for the first time at Fieldays next week and both will be in showrooms by the end of the year, with the Acadia bolstering Holden’s SUV line-up to five models and Xtreme sitting atop the Colorado range.

Holden New Zealand specially shipped in a pre-production Acadia for Fieldays, with the car travelling by air freight from GM's production plant in Springhill, Tennessee (where all Holden Acadias will be built) to Chicago, Los Angeles and onto Auckland for its New Zealand debut.

Following the launch of the new Astra, ZB Commodore and Equinox SUV, Holden say the arrival of the Acadia and Colorado Xtreme reinforces Holden’s ongoing product renaissance.

“The arrival of Acadia in Holden showrooms will bolster the brand’s new SUV model portfolio to five models: Trax, Equinox, Captiva, Trailblazer and Acadia,” said Marc Warr, Holden New Zealand National Marketing Manager.

“Sourced from North America but with significant Holden involvement from the beginning of development, Acadia is a game-changer for Holden and the segment.

"It boast high-tech features like 360-degree camera, wireless phone charging, heated and cooled seats and the ability to park itself, it’s also great to drive and looks the goods.”

Full range and pricing for Acadia will be revealed closer to launch in Q4, 2018.

While Holden will source its new SUV from America, inspiration for the Colorado Xtreme was found much closer to home. After the original Xtreme Concept from 2016 received wide spread applause, Holden have now decided to make a version the customers can buy.

The Colorado Xtreme will be in dealerships from early Q4 with prices starting from $79,990.

Key upgrades include winch bar and winch wire harness kit, 18-inch black alloy wheels with all-terrain tyres, a black extended sports bar, black tubular side steps, rear step, soft tonneau cover, tow bar, Colorado decal on tailgate and black roof tray.

“The Xtreme is no longer just a show concept, it’s a fully functional ‘real McCoy’ four-wheel drive and we expect people to put it to the test in a variety of day-to-day on and off-road situations,” said Mr Warr.

“The Colorado Xtreme received widespread adulation at Fieldays 2016 so we challenged ourselves to develop a vehicle which could to replicate the appeal of the original.”

“We have incorporated a number of highly desirable accessories to create the Colorado Xtreme and anticipate there will be significant interest in the new model.”

“A large number of our new model portfolio will be on display in our purpose-built facility at Fieldays and we’re excited to debut the new Acadia and Xtreme at the Mystery Creek event - we can’t wait to introduce people to the new arrivals in the Holden range.”
