LeBron James drives a Kia K900. No, really! He does!
We all have a hypothetical shopping list of cars chiseled into our brains should the day ever come that we score that illusive Lotto win, or when that African prince decides to make good on his emails about inheriting our millions from his deceased father.
But, for all of his oodles of cash, Basketball legend and member of sporting royalty LeBron James drives a Kia K900 — a rear-wheel drive V8 that we unfortunately don't get in little old New Zealand.
Naturally, people have been skeptical. Surely LeBron would look more at home behind the wheel of something sleek and Italian or large and American rather than Kia's relatively humble luxury sedan? Twitter was where most of the discussion took place, with one fiscally responsible Twitterist posting that they'll "bet anyone $10,000,000 that LeBron doesn't roll up to the games in a Kia."
Well Kia, and LeBron, responded in brilliant fashion.
The add is the first of several based around tweets aired onto the wide world interweb after the deal between the basketball superstar and the Korean marque was announced.
How much of this is marketing fodder is unknown, but what can be confirmed is that the eagle-eyed public will now be double-taking every time they spot a K900 on game night...
