- Genesis has revealed its first full-size flagship electric SUV in GV90 and GV90 Neolun forms.
- A 123.5kWh battery powers dual motors producing 490kW/800Nm, with 500km claimed range.
- Genesis is not officially represented in NZ, so the GV90 has no official local availability.
Genesis has pulled the covers off its new GV90, the brand's first full-size flagship electric SUV, and it is not arriving quietly.
Offered in standard GV90 and more theatrical GV90 Neolun form, the big EV leans heavily into presence, luxury and technical spectacle.
The Neolun version's standout trick is its Arch Gate side opening, which uses independently opening coach doors and does away with a conventional fixed B-pillar.
A flagship with a party piece

That kind of layout usually raises questions about strength and safety, and Genesis is clearly aware of that. It says reinforced door beams, thicker framing, steel tubes and structural foam have all been used to protect the opening and maintain rigidity.
Beyond the doors, the GV90 also packs a serious mechanical brief. Power comes from a 123.5kWh battery feeding front and rear motors for a combined 490kW and 800Nm.

Genesis claims about 500km of driving range for the seven-seat model based on internal testing, so that figure is not yet tied to an independent WLTP or EPA certification.
The brand also says the GV90 can charge from 10% to 80% in 22 minutes when connected to a 350kW DC fast charger.
Big comfort, big hardware

Underneath, Genesis has fitted dual electronic limited-slip differentials, multi-chamber air suspension and rear-wheel steering with up to five degrees of movement.
That suggests this large SUV is aiming for more than straight-line punch, especially when it comes to low-speed manoeuvrability and ride comfort.

Inside, the cabin reads like a proper flagship play. Genesis says the GV90 gets a roof airbag as part of a 12-airbag suite, front seats that can rotate 180 degrees while parked, a pop-up OLED display and a 25-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system.
It is an ambitious package, and one that pushes Genesis further into top-end territory. However, Genesis is not officially represented in New Zealand, so this is a global reveal rather than a local-market announcement.
Pricing has not yet been disclosed, and any examples that eventually arrive here would be private or parallel imports rather than official NZ-market vehicles.
