This wild Purosangue concept could become reality with enough demand.

Ferrari's Purosangue, the Italian marque’s first SUV, has captured attention for its blend of luxury and power, but it was never intended to venture far off paved roads.

Now, German off-road specialist Delta 4×4 is offering a glimpse into what could be a radically transformed version of the Purosangue - one suited for serious off-roading. The concept exists in renderings, but Delta 4×4 suggests it could become reality, should enough demand arise.

Off-road transformation

Delta 4×4’s interpretation of the Purosangue, dubbed the "Purosangue Fuoristrada" (meaning “off-road” in Italian), boasts a series of modifications that turn the high-riding luxury SUV into a capable all-terrain beast.

The proposed upgrades include a suspension lift kit, Delta’s signature beadlock rims wrapped in all-terrain tyres, and extended wheel arches for a more robust stance. This setup sacrifices some of the SUV’s trademark agility on asphalt but offers superior grip and ground clearance for rugged conditions.

Other off-road enhancements include a full-size spare tyre mounted on the tailgate, an emergency shovel, and a custom roof rack. On top of the rack is a retractable rooftop tent, accessible via a ladder, transforming the Purosangue into an adventurous camper.

The renderings also show extra LED lights on the front bumper, hood and roof to ensure visibility in harsh off-road environments.

Function meets adventure

Delta 4×4 has not proposed any performance tweaks, likely because the Purosangue’s 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine already produces a healthy 533kW.

With power sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission, this SUV is no slouch, even without any additional modifications under the bonnet.

However, the focus of this build is not on speed but on versatility. Alongside the rooftop tent, the roof rack is designed to carry large items, including petrol canisters for extended adventures far from civilisation.

Removing Ferrari’s iconic Prancing Horse emblem in the renderings might also be a strategic move to avoid potential legal friction with Ferrari’s branding team.

Realistic prospects?

While the Purosangue Fuoristrada remains a conceptual design, Delta 4×4 has indicated that it could materialise into a real-world build if enough interest is shown by customers.

Considering the exclusivity and price tag of the Ferrari Purosangue, it’s hard to imagine many owners lining up to convert their prized SUV into an off-road machine. However, there may be a select few thrill-seekers eager to make a bold statement and take their Ferrari beyond the tarmac.

Should this off-road Purosangue come to life, it would undoubtedly be one of the most unique Ferraris ever built.
