The 2024 Renault Arkana facelift has arrived. The compact SUV debuts globally with several notable changes designed to make it more competitive in an increasingly crowded market for crossover vehicles.
Perhaps the most visible change with the Arkana is Renault's new logo, which retains the iconic diamond motif and is complemented by a new diamond-pattern grille.
Elsewhere on the exterior, there are updated taillights and various black trim in different finsihes to replace the chrome on the previous model. There's also a new colour option: Midnight Blue.
Meanwhile, the new top-spec Esprit Alpine model gets variant-specific branding, a rear spoiler, and 19-inch, two-tone alloy wheels.
Inside, the new Arkana gets a reworked cabin with faux suede and Eco Tep, a new material containing up to 10 per cent bio-sourced materials. The new seats look plush with blue contrast stitching and Alpine branding on the backrests.
Power options remain unchanged, with a choice of three hybrid powertrains. The first two are mild hybrid and use identical 1.3-litre, four-cylinder petrol engines that produce 103 kW and 116 kW.
The top choice is an E-Tech, full hybrid power plant. It combines a 69-kW, 1.6-litre, four-cylinder engine with a 36-kW electric motor and a 15-kW starter generator. Power output is set at a paltry 107 kW, but Renault says this option can use the electric motor up to 80 per cent of the time during city use, possibly cutting fuel consumption by 40 per cent. Estimated fuel economy is allegedly 4.7 L/100 km.
The 2024 Renault Arkana will be available for pre-order within the next few months, but global rollouts will differ based on the country. It will come in three variants: Evolution, Techno, and the range-topping Esprit Alpine.
A New Zelaand release is possible, as the current model is still on sale starting at $38,990 before on-road costs and the Clean Car Fee.
