Suzuki are the masters of creating small SUVs.
Currently in New Zealand they already offer the old-school cool Ignis and retro Jimny - which we expect to be updated in 2019 - and Suzuki's latest concept shows they plan to continue production of small SUVs for many years to come.
Called the e-Survivor, the diminutive concept is set to be unveiled at next month's Tokyo Motor Show, and is said to draw its inspiration from models in Suzuki's history like the Jimny and Vitara.
Suzuki say the concept is built on a truck-style ladder frame and lightweight compact body so it's fully prepared for the job of off-roading. The e-Survivor will also incorporate a full-electric drivetrain with an individual motor in each wheel delivering all-wheel drivability.
Details are scarce at this point, but the first picture released by Suzuki reveals a two-seat open-top layout, transparent doors and unique bonnet scoop.
The wheelbase seems to extend as far as possible towards the front and rear bumpers, helping with approach and departure angles, and the ride height allows for plenty of ground clearance on the trails.
But for full details, we now have to wait for the opening of the Tokyo Motor Show on October 27.
