CITROËN UNVEILS ALL-NEW C3 HATCH, THEIR MOST CONNECTED CAR EVER.

Citroën has unveiled its new C3, revealing a fresh take on styling and technology for the compact hatch segment.

Arriving in New Zealand mid-2017, the new C3 receives segment-first features including Citroen’s unique Airbump technology and Citroën ConnectedCam, an on-board HD camera that lets drivers share their photos and videos directly to social media. Citroën’s ConnectedCam also covers drivers by automatically recording in the event of an accident and locating their new C3 via integrated GPS.

The very latest in Citroën technology is set to take the C3 drivers experience to a new level including 3D-connected navigation with speech recognition, reversing camera, lane departure alert and blind spot monitoring. MirrorLink technology, the leading industry standard for car-smartphone connectivity is available as standard, making connected driving safer and easier. The efficiency of the new C3 also extends to a range of high-performance, high-efficiency engines, including the PureTech International Engine of the Year paired with PSA’s latest-generation EAT6 automatic transmission.

The new C3 will be the first mid-range model to offer extensive customisation capability, including 36 colour combinations, with options for the roof, fog lamps, wing mirrors, rear window surround and Airbumps.

New C3 owners will also choice of four different mood packs for the spacious interior. A significant shift and change in direction from the current C3 design, the new C3 will be an undeniable trendsetter, responding to demand for drivers to express their own personal style.

Designed and engineered under Citroen’s Advanced Comfort program, the new C3 offers both the driver and passengers the unique experience of feeling at home in their cars. Comfort has been prioritised at every step of development, starting with the seats which utilise bright, warm materials that have a deliberate non-automotive look and feel. Spatial innovations follow, with ingenious storage features and generous space allocation inspired by the worlds of architecture and furniture design. Additional design features include a 7” touch screen, hands-free ignition and panoramic sunroof that floods the passenger compartment in light.

Citroën New Zealand’s Divisional Manager, Simon Rose, commented: “We think the conquest market potential will be significant given the new C3 design, and will certainly talk to a younger demographic. The new PureTech engine and EAT6 transmission will also give the vehicle a significant lift in performance.”

He continues “The link to the Cactus Airbump design is very Citroën, and true to the brands Creative Technology promise. Initial impressions are that the new C3 could well be a key model for us in 2017.”
