Chinese carmaker Chery isn’t known for having the most thrilling looks in the business, but that may be about to change if a new concept bound for the upcoming Beijing motor show is any indication.

The concept, dubbed FV2030, has been previewed this week with the release of a highly stylised teaser sketch, hinting at a high-riding coupe-like offering.

Scheduled for an April 25 unveiling, the FV2030 sports a futuristic design with its sleek body, tapering roofline and large wheels.

The two-tier front fascia is flanked by a razor-thin headlights, large air-intakes and a front bumper trim that isn’t dissimilar to the mostly cosmetic bash plates found on numerous SUVs.

Online reports suggest the concept will have an all-electric drivetrain and feature a 3D holographic display in the cabin.

While the FV2030 is just a show car, it likely points to a new design direction for the Chinese manufacturer’s future line-up.
