An Auckland real estate agency is making headlines with a unique promotion designed to attract buyers in a challenging market: offering free cars to the first five purchasers of new townhouses in a Mount Wellington development.
According to One Roof, the promotion, spearheaded by Harcourts Golden Link Three Kings, offers a brand new Toyota Camry Hybrid GX (valued at $50,000) to each of the first five buyers who go unconditional on their purchase of a townhouse at The Glade development on Mangahoe Road before the 29th of November.
This brings the total value of the giveaway to an impressive $250,000. The agency is strategically timing this offer to coincide with Black Friday, a popular shopping event that has taken hold in New Zealand in recent years.
The townhouses themselves are priced at $799,000, which is notably below their advertised valuation of $900,000, and the agency says that the attractive pricing, combined with the car giveaway, aims to attract "first-time homebuyers and young people who are looking to enter the property market." The agency is marketing the promotion heavily on social media platforms, including China's WeChat platform, as well as YouTube and Facebook.
While the free car is undoubtedly a major draw, the agency is also offering flexibility to buyers who might have different preferences, with the option to select a different car model or negotiate a price discount on the townhouse instead of taking the car.
