Designers take the crazy and make it crazier
For a healthy portion of us, owning a Ferrari 488 Italia would be just dandy. It'd attract all the attention at the school pick-up run, slay every track warrior, and out-scream each and every one of those neighbours over the fence you hold a hatred for.
But for the weird ones among us searching for just a little bit more than Italian automotive perfection, there's now an ... answer?
Misha Designs, who I heard of for the first time approximately 20 minutes ago, have whipped the canvas off their new wide-body kit for the Ferrari 488 Italia.
How this normally goes is that the car journo lashes out at the designers for their hideous work, and declares any and all who disagree with their view insane. They then recline back in their spinny spinny chair and clatter their feet onto the desk, celebrating a job well written with some hard-earned time stalking that girl they went out to dinner once on Snapchat.
But the script is different today — I kinda like this. Maybe apart from the Newton's Cradle–looking dangle between the taillights.
In no way would it be even a little bit practical, considering the 21" Giovanna 'rimz'. But if you're buying a 488, then you're already surrendering most practicality basics anyway. Why not go whole hog?
Misha Designs' kit comes with no less than 11 pieces — including a new bonnet, a fender for each corner, skirts, and diffuser. And unlike the majority of works from the likes of say Mansory, all of these additions work for the silhouette and contours of the car, not against them. There's some similarities between this and what Liberty Walk do for the 'prancing horse', but my gut tells me that this is the classier alternative.
Misha have created new kits for several cars, including the dishy looking Lamborghini Huracan pictured with their 488 below. There's mixed success, with some of them looking equally palatable. Others, not so much.
