A speedboat suitable for James Bond
It is the luxury speedboat that could leave you shaken, but not stirred.
Luxury car maker Aston Martin, the supplier of James Bond's cars, has revealed the design for its first foray onto water.
The firm hopes to produce a series of powerboats, which is boasts will be as luxurious and hi-tech as its cars.
Aston Martin said the boat 'is the result of years of research and development, challenging the status quo of the nautical world.
The interior will feature a high-definition touch screen that can be worked with buttons, remote control, or voice commands.
'Fusing the maritime and automotive worlds with the universal characteristics of style and elegance, the core of the AM37 offers the perfect balance of design and engineering, performance and comfort, luxury and functionality.'
The design was shown off for the first time during the prestigious Milan Design Week, Salone del Mobile.
Aston Martin Chief Creative Officer, Marek Reichman said: 'It is true that a beautiful, simple shape is critical to a product's success but it must also have drama, which is provided by surface language, proportions, and through the choice of exciting materials.
'The most important attribute for Aston Martin is the language of design and we have transferred this language into AM37.
'The new powerboat represents the ideal combination of luxurious and technical materials, generating a powerful yet understated finished product.'
The boat will also feature controls similar to those found in Aston Martin's cars
Quintessence Yachts is working on the design, and Chief Executive Officer, Mariella Mengozzi said: 'At Quintessence Yachts we translate design in functionality and technology to enhance the customer experience.
'We're proud to present elements of the AM37 at Milan Design Week, a boat that represents an entirely new concept for the yachting world.'
Owners will use a tablet to control the boat, and can also use apps to start the air conditioning, the fridge and the coffee machine while still at home or while driving to the marina.
Navigation, control monitor and entertainment systems are all integrated into the 15inch touchscreen, which can also be controlled by voice.
Owners will have their own cluster with a dedicated display for monitoring engine status and navigation, and there is no key - instead AM37 owners will use a fingerprint sensor.
