Funnelling government support money into things that aren't fit for purpose is nothing new, but it seems to be extra prevalent when it comes to support packages surrounding Covid-19.

Since the pandemic first started, there have been a number of stories out of America regarding this, but this latest one might just be the most extreme.

According to the Associated Press, a man from Texas has been sentenced to nine years behind bars after receiving more than $3 million in low-interest Paycheck Protection Program loans.

Mr Price reportedly requested these funds to cover payroll, but instead funneled this money through three companies that he owned, and used it to line his own pockets.

Once the money was clear, it was reportedly spent on a brand new Lamborghini Urus, Ford F-350, and used to pay off a mortgage. He also bought a new Rolex, and spent thousands at nightclubs across Houston.

Unfortunately, his plan came crashing down in August last year when he was arrested, and later pled guilty to charges of wire fraud and money laundering.
