First-ever electric JCWs to launch in New Zealand next year.

Mini New Zealand has unveiled its first all-electric John Cooper Works (JCW) models.

Set for launch in the first quarter of 2025, the Mini JCW Electric and JCW Aceman promise to blend performance and sustainability in a newly electrified package.

Under the bonnet, both models pack a 190kW motor producing 350Nm of torque, driving the front wheels. The Mini JCW Electric sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds, while the slightly larger JCW Aceman completes the benchmark in 6.4 seconds.

Despite their eco-friendly credentials, these cars retain a top speed of 200km/h. A unique electric boost mode, activated via paddles on the steering wheel, also adds 20kW of power for sharp overtakes or quick acceleration bursts.

Equipped with a 54.2kWh (gross) battery, the JCW Electric boasts a WLTP-rated range of up to 371km. The JCW Aceman follows closely, offering 355km.

Alexander Brockhoff, General Manager for Mini Australia & New Zealand, commented, "We are thrilled to bring the renowned engagement of JCW to the electric era, delivering maximum driving fun with instant power delivery."

True to the JCW lineage, both models come with unique styling.

Exterior highlights include an octagonal black grille, sporty side skirts and a prominent rear spoiler. Mini LED headlights with horizontal bars enhance the bold front-end look.

Aerodynamic efficiency is also prioritised, with bespoke 18-inch wheels for the JCW Electric and 19-inch options for the JCW Aceman. The colour palette includes striking options like Chili Red and Midnight Black II with bespoke stripe patterns.

Inside, the cabin blends racing-inspired minimalism with modern tech. Vegan leather seats feature multicoloured fabric accents and red stitching, while the dashboard carries a distinctive knitted black-and-red finish.

A 240mm OLED central display anchors the minimalist interior, offering navigation, media, and air-conditioning controls. Customisable Mini Experience Modes allow drivers to set the cabin’s ambience to suit their mood.
