I wanted a car that didn't devalue as soon as I drove it off the lot. I wanted something reliable, economical and big enough for road trips.

What were your initial thoughts about the car? Tell us why it appealed to you.

Very spacious for a RAV4, I have owned Toyota Highlanders before and this is a smaller version of the Highlander

What have you discovered since owning the car?

You can update the center console area to apple car play. It has lane assist and cruise control with braking ability

What do you like/dislike about the car?

I would like side mirrors that retract themselves when the vehicle is turned off. I was surprised that I needed the front shocks replaced with the car being less than 4 years old and doing 30,000 ks

I like that it holds its value, it is 4 years old but still looks updated. I am planning on keeping it for quite some time

(including all on-road costs) 7500 What were your needs when you bought this car? Has it fulfilled those needs? I needed a higher up than sedan car, for easier getting in and out. I also needed straight seats, no curvy bucket type seats, right angle sitting. Both of us struggled in a lot of cars. We did like the idea of having plenty of space in back when required as well, more than a boot. We did NOT want 4wd or AWD. Nor did we want something big and gas hungry. What were your initial thoughts about the car? Tell us why it appealed to you. I'd never heard of them. It immediately appealed because the seating was perfect, high up without needing a step to get in, and had the space at back when needed. It wasn't ugly, not hard to park or oversize, just right really. Loved it. What have you discovered since owning the car? It can be a bit bouncy. I would not take it off road or on rough ground. It is fairly basic in techy features. What do you like/dislike about the car? It suits our needs, it looks kind of small but a surprising amount of space, I fit in a new oven, with packaging no porblem at all. Dislike? I'd like a more modern one, but they seem rare and I couldn't afford more modern anyway. Any other comments on the car? We love it. 1500cc, not greedy on fuel, and it's been very reliable too. Yes, a newer one if I needed to. Some of the newer car features would be nice to have and it doesn't have many at all.

Excellent fuel efficiency..gives around 930km per full tank fuel...good deal for the money I paid and most trusted brand...love it..10 out of 10 rating What were your initial thoughts about the car? Tell us why it appealed to you. Shape looks good and smooth ride with good JBL sound system and good gps system with great black 18 inch wheels. What have you discovered since owning the car? Fuel efficiency is great with smooth ride ..we'll design interior with lots of storage compartment with lots of good features like GPS and electric tale gate operation..line change assistance with great cruise control system and good 360 degrees camera install..sunroof is excellent What do you like/dislike about the car? Love the fuel efficiency..give around 5.1 litres per 100 km and good interior design with leather seats heating options with good sound system jbl speakers Any other comments on the car? Trusted brand and reliable service..have been using Toyota RAV4 for last 15 years...got second generation RAV4 2003 with I used for 12 years without any issues and then bought brand new 2021 hybrid limited edition from Auckland City Toyota. So far love the RAV4 for fuel efficiency and smooth ride with lots of power...highly recommended

Has it fulfilled those needs? Fuel economy, safety. Yes on both counts. Effect on fuel budget has been significant. It has some nice features that you come to expect from Toyota. What were your initial thoughts about the car? Tell us why it appealed to you. It was a Toyota, which instantly means it’s reliable, it’s also loaded with bells and whistles. I have the leather seat version. What have you discovered since owning the car? It’s towing ability is epic! If you’ve ever let the concept of hybrids not being towing vehicles influence your buying decisions, this RAV4 will change your mind! It navigates towing across wet grass and deep mud expertly, with either my caravan or trailer. What do you like/dislike about the car? It’s missing some common sense, such as putting the start button on the left side of the steering wheel so I have to physically sit in the seat just to start it when I don’t want to leave immediately. The incessant chime every time you stop the car and open the door is ridiculous. Love the shape, the smoothness, acceleration, and towing ability. Any other comments on the car? Right up there in terms of the dozen or so bought-from-new cars I’ve driven. As long as I need to tow, this car would be on my radar. The negatives are minor, just silly and could have been avoided with a bit more thought.
