We had a Mitsubishi Diamante, which was a great car to drive, mainly driven by my wife. However it was expensive on fuel & was 12 years old. I used a company car at that time. As we are both getting older as well, I decided to buy a new car for my wife's 65th birthday. We shopped around & decided we did not need a big car anymore. All we needed is a good, reliable, affordable, comfortable car to get us from point A to B. At the time Toyota was offering a good deal. So we traded in the Diamante & picked up the Prius C. Yes it has fulfilled our needs. It has everything one can expect from a car at that price. Very cheap to run, & almost maintenance free
I dealt with a honest salesman at Toyota Grey lynn. He gave us a very good deal, 5 years free servicing, WOF, road side assist. Agreed to a few extras like duraseal, car alarm ect. Best of all was the fuel consumption at about 23 kilometers per litre, as compared to the Diamante at 5 kilometers per litre.
To start with it felt like a toy car after having driven the Diamante as it was ever so quiet, especially on EV mode. However with time we have got used to it. It is a different sort of pleasure to drive, handles very well, has plenty of power for a little car, & best of all is the fuel consumption.
Cost next to nothing in fuel cost. Superb road holding. Very zippy, all in all a pleasure to drive. Cons: On a very windy day, we need to slow down & be cautious, especially over the Harbour Bridge.
All in all I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good small car. I have used it on long runs to the Coromandel, Hamilton & up North ever so often. Very very safe & dependable. Thanks TOYOTA
