What were your needs when you bought this car? Has it fulfilled those needs?

Tall car to eliminate stooping to enter and straining to exit. Capacity (14 grandchildren). Versatility (seats down carry long loads) Reliability. 100% fulfilled.

What were your initial thoughts about the car? Tell us why it appealed to you.

Ex-rental, one owner, 12 months old, 50,000kms on the clock, still under factory warranty, in lovely condition. Looked brand new.

What have you discovered since owning the car?

Toyota legendary reliability is true, nothing serious has gone wrong, now reading 190,000km. The paint is fading quite badly on external plastic parts, but I don't care. Seat fabric still good.

What do you like/dislike about the car?

Like almost everything. Has special setting on air intake for being stuck behind smelly vehicles. One stupid aspect. When you cut the aircon temperature to anything below about 19 degrees it automatically switches to recycled air instead of fresh. And if you switch it back to fresh, next time to restart the car it reverts to recycle. Very irritating. Changing headlight bulb ridiculously complicated. Headlight covers becoming murky. No attempted fix has worked yet. Headlights too dim on dip. Internal headlight height adjustment has stopped working. Haven't solved it yet. Toyota service charges too high. Have used local garage ever since warranty expired. Also, terrible jack for changing tyre - like so many other cars today.

Any other comments on the car?

Haven't serviced it as often as I should. Latest service cost a bit but not when you consider how long between. At 74 I expect this car to see me out. My brother-in-law did well over 300,000km in his. Wife has even older Toyota RAV, also high kms now, minimum issues over the years.
