2023

How much did you pay? (including all on-road costs)

$75,000

What were your needs when you bought this car? Has it fulfilled those needs?

Wanted a comfortable 4WD that could take me off road for fishing, tow a 3000kg caravan and was reliable. Overall this has met those needs very well indeed.

What were your initial thoughts about the car? Tell us why it appealed to you.

Loved it as then it was the current model, one owner, NZ new, in great condition with a full service history from the local dealer.

What have you discovered since owning the car?

Itʼs been bullet proof reliable but I am a careful owner and service it to the letter at Toyota service. No faults found

What do you like/dislike about the car?

Like : Feels safe, comfortable, heating and cooling are great, superb vision out, off road very capable, rear door opening window

Dislike : rear door is side opening which is painful at times, cameras, screens and infotainment tech are all behind the competition, engine could do with more power for towing and overtaking

Any other comments on the car?

Overall love it but would probably choose either the Landcruiser 300 series with the V6, or the Ford Everest v6 when I replace it.

Lastly, would you buy this vehicle again?

No

Why would/wouldn't you buy it again?

Current new model uses the same engine when it needs another 150-200kw more, poor design with the battery in the boot.
