Fully electric - save money on petrol and maintenance. Great sound system, enough space for suitcases, safety software updates. All the latest modern features such as remote boot opening. Came under Government subsidy. The Model Y fulfilled all of these requirements.
What were your initial thoughts about the car? Tell us why it appealed to you.
I absolutely LOVE my Model Y. It is so much fun to drive - I'll find an excuse to drive it anywhere. The acceleration is fantastic. The sound system is excellent. Being able to open the car through my phone just makes sense (biometrics next step?).
What have you discovered since owning the car?
You will never forget your phone :) The car is fast (love being first at the lights or on the on-ramp to the motorway). The car is very quiet (have to watch out for birds and pedestrians who don't realise you are there). So many options in the car to customise your driving experience. Voice assistant to control some functions. It feels that this is the future, whether people want it or not.
What do you like/dislike about the car?
The Model Y is currently the safest car in the world. Frequent software updates. Being able to watch TV in the car (useful when have a 2-3 hour wait for a doctor at A&E and being asked to wait in the car). Being able to turn on the air conditioning before getting back to the car on a hot sunny day so that the car is nice and cool when you get in (also has an option to automatically turn the air conditioning on when the inside temperature reaches 40 degrees). This car takes a lot of the mundane thinking out of driving - no need to apply or release a handbrake or turn off an indicator after changing lanes. I will never go back to an ICE car again - we also have an ICE Mercedes which is a pleasure to drive but I prefer my Model Y. Dislikes - although the car looks good, the styling of car is not my favourite - would love a sporty look (no muscle car look though!). Windscreen wipers don't operate as frequently as would like (can be mitigated by a touch of the wand). But nothing major.
Any other comments on the car?
Lots of sense of fun in the car. Wish I could afford the Roadster version when it comes out (to replace the Mercedes).

Electric cars are the way of the future. This car is fun and I have a smile on my face every time I drive it.
