Did you buy this car new or used?

Used

If used, what year did you buy it used?

2022

How much did you pay? (including all on-road costs)

$63,400

What were your needs when you bought this car? Has it fulfilled those needs?

Tried a friend's Tesla Model Y and got a bad case of the Iwannas. It is quiet, smooth, comfortable, cheap to run (even with RUC).

What were your initial thoughts about the car? Tell us why it appealed to you.

Aesthetically pleasing to look at. Still one of the most attractive cars on the road, (and my previous car was a Mercedes CLS.)

What have you discovered since owning the car?

Interior not quite up to Mercedes standard but seats are more comfortable. Software updates make the car even better than when I bought it.

All the main driver controls are lifted straight from Mercedes Benz so was very intuitive for me to just get in and drive.

The acceleration is awesome but it is also very easy to drive sedately with one pedal control.

What do you like/dislike about the car?

Like: Aesthetics, comfort, intuitive controls, software updates, acceleration, easy driving.

Dislike: The automatic wiper control is not up to Mercedes standard. Too unreliable. I have switched it off. The high tyre pressures (46psi) give a firmer ride than I would like. The centre console is a bit "low rent".

Any other comments on the car?

Useable range is not an issue at all. People scaremonger. That, unfortunately affects the residual value. When I bought it from Tesla it had 40K on the clock. I have done over 25K in it. The range at 80% battery was 300 to 302 kms.

To get that now I have to set the charge limit to 82%, so a 2% loss in range is getting down to the margin of error territory.

My only major repair has been the power steering. It is soon to turn 8 years old and will be out of warranty, so I will be getting it thoroughly checked for battery and drivetrain health.

Lastly, would you buy this vehicle again?

Yes

Why would/wouldn't you buy it again?

If the unthinkable happened and the car is wrecked I would go straight out and get another one. This time I would try and get the P100D.
