What were your needs when you bought this car? Has it fulfilled those needs?
Mid-size SUV, 4WD, comfortable easy to reach seating, a light-coloured interior, vg build quality on proven (Nissan) mechanicals, good vision, reasonable power/economy, rear seats that fold flat (easily), a full size spare, efficient aircon/heating, no damp stains or smells, servicing costs not above average, chain cam rather than belt, auto trans.
What were your initial thoughts about the car? Tell us why it appealed to you.
This was the second one I have bought - an upgrade really, as the original ticked most of the same boxes (and is still in the family). This version is white with a lovely two-toned light interior (leather), and features a double sun-roof., and came with the needed tow bar and 4wd capability (incl difflock).
What have you discovered since owning the car?
Nothing negative important, it continues to fulfill my needs very well. Like the first one, it’s comfortable, with good storage, reliable, and tows our runabout with ease (and beach launches on occasion). Ah, I did have to have the undersides sandblasted and painted with better quality paint (rust-preventative due to beach exposure).
What do you like/dislike about the car?
Nothing stands out. I have looked at the latest models but see no point in changing (unless mine wears out). Oh, a minor nuisance is that the headlights require frequent polishing (unless the car is garaged...mine isn’t).
Any other comments on the car?
As a French version of the well-established Nissan X-Trail, these ticked many boxes yet weren’t popular until later - their credentials are excellent, but used prices are very low for such capable, well made vehicles. A second hand bargain, for those who know. BTW, Samsung do a fine job assembling these cars in Sth Korea. I would buy another happily, if it’s details suited my preferences.

Lastly, would you buy this vehicle again?
Yes
Why would/wouldn't you buy it again?
Ticks all the boxes that matter, and as a bonus, a twin sun roof (driver’s one opens fully). My g’daughters love riding in it and never get car sick. Now, that’s a testimony. Simply put, these series 1 Koleos vehicles were really very good, but underrated...which is great for the used car buyer.
