What were your needs when you bought this car? Has it fulfilled those needs?
To commute my elderly parents comfortably, have resonable power, a tow bar and be economical. Yes-My father loves the higher rear seats as he can see clearly ahead and yet recline in comfort He also loves that the seats heat. My mother needs a walker. This fits easily into the rear with additional space for travel gear or groceries etc. She can easily get in and out of the car. It is not raised too high like some SUVs and has a powered tailgate. It is the same engine size as my previous car but its not racy which is fine. Feels solid, safe and comfortable and has the same economy as my Mazda 6 sports LTD. Its tows well and I love the rear and forward cameras.
What were your initial thoughts about the car? Tell us why it appealed to you.
I spied the Nissan Xtrail whilst driving and loved the look. Researced them and went to Nissan to view. I decided I wanted the full spec one - Ti. Leather seats, huge panoramic sunroof, loads of safety features and the primary factor comfortable for my parents. A new model was out of my financial league. I checked for the best car at the best price and brought from a dealer. Gunmetal Grey Ti with a tow bar. Very Happy :)
What have you discovered since owning the car?
That I love it more than I thought I would. I really like the safety features active cruise with stop and go function. It also comes with lane departure and blind spot warning and rear cross traffic alert. There’s auto-braking for those stop/start in front drivers and adaptive front lighting and auto high beam assist. Heated seats, remote lock, push button start. Love the powered tailgate and self adjusting rearview mirror. Privacy glazing, huge sunroof. Rear seats recline but also the whole rear seat can be moved giving loads of rear seat space. Hands free bluetooth phone connection. Best of all variable 2wd or 4wd. Lots of car for the price
What do you like/dislike about the car?
That the side mirrors with indicators manually fold I think newer models have electric folding -that would be great. The leather seat, drivers side are getting crush marks on the RHS of the seat. I have noticed this on other vehicles. Not sure why-more use perhaps.
Any other comments on the car?
I found Nissan service to be extremely helpful after previously using Mazda and Toyota. Very happy with this vehicle so far.
