What were your initial thoughts about the car? Tell us why it appealed to you.
Perfect for my needs. Easy to drive around town and on the motorway. Trouble free motoring that has more than lived up to my expectations.
What have you discovered since owning the car?
Sadly the chrome on the two switches on the steering wheel that controls the radio volume and vehicle speed while adaptive cruise control is engaged, wore off. I had to take it in to get the agent to deal to the Auto locking of all doors, it was driving me insane. Now it automatically unlocks the doors when I select Park on the transmission. The resolution of the reversing camera is not high enough in my opinion, this seems odd as Mitsubishi was a pioneer in digital video. There is a button to lock and unlock all doors on the tailgate, my son informed me after 3 years of owning it. You can't lock the key inside from the outside. I was concerned about the 8 speed Transmission both would it be continuously hunting for the right ratio and how long before it needed major work. I need not have been concerned it's brilliant even when towing, never overheats and auto specialist have informed me they never see them. I met a guy who owned a Pajero Sport, the same as mine and he was towing a double axle outback caravan, he said Ford Rangers can't keep up with him on the hills when towing similar caravans. I have discovered this too my conclusion is that the Pajero Sport motor and transmission are very well matched plus being able to select AWD on sealed roads means a far more stable unit. The 3rd row seating is, can I just say I might consider a quick trip to the local and ok for kids. Certainly more comfortable than the rear seat in an MGB sports car. I found out a month ago there is a little slot next to the driver's left knee inside the storage on the side of the transmission tunnel to hide the key. I'm not sure if it charges the battery in the key or not, but it is there and seems very strange. I love the fact that it's keyless entry no more searching for the keys in the rain. I love the push button start and the adaptive cruise control, though it has an annoying habit of suddenly braking when a car ahead has turned left onto a side road, you have to anticipate it and accelerate very slightly with your foot, that over rides it.
What do you like/dislike about the car?
There is a delay in the steering from turning the steering wheel and the vehicle turning, I have learned now to automatically turn in before the corner. The stereo is ok but not very loud. And often when I push for the next auto tuned radio station there is a long delay before it plays again. Also I hate the fact that when my phone is connected via Bluetooth and I go to ring someone it takes 3 seperate actions before it dials the number. It's like, what you want to ring someone while you are driving, that can result in an accident you know, then really are you sure it may distract you, oh alright then but let it be on your head.
Any other comments on the car?
As annoying as some of these things can be I love this vehicle, having owned it for 5 years and clocked up 60,000kms I intend to keep it for another 5 years.

Lastly, would you buy this vehicle again?
Yes
Why would/wouldn't you buy it again?
It has done all that I have ever expected it to do and much more. Very economical, yes I have had 8l/100km and has never given me any reason to wonder if I should have chosen something else.
