Did you buy this car new or used?

Used

If used, what year did you buy it used?

2021

How much did you pay? (including all on-road costs)

10000

What were your needs when you bought this car? Has it fulfilled those needs?

(1) Needed seating for more than 5, and room to carry large items. It barely fulfills those needs - the third row of seats is only suitable for child-sized passengers. (2) Preferred a vehicle with a reputation for reliability, and a good supply chain for parts. So far, so good. Other vehicles, such as 7-seater people movers, were high mileage and/or ceased production.

What were your initial thoughts about the car? Tell us why it appealed to you.

(1) Liked the value - a lot of car for the money. (2) Great ride on NZ's terrible roads. (3) Recommended by auto mechanics. (4) Radiator needed replacing straightaway - previous owner sold it as is with leaks, and I bought it sight unseen under lockdown.

What have you discovered since owning the car?

(1) Terrible gas mileage around town. (2) With the expansion of our four-lane highways, I miss cruise control. (3) Installing an after-market towbar was not straightforward. Once you insert the removable hitch, the rear gate will bang into the towball. (4) 4WD was not a need to have, but it's been a nice bonus.

What do you like/dislike about the car?

Pros (1) Smooth ride (2) Height gives a feeling of safety (3) Flexible seating/storage options (4) Reliable Cons (1) Fuel consumption (2) Acceleration not sufficient for quick overtaking/maneuvers on the open road (3) Not a true 7 seater

Lastly, would you buy this vehicle again?

Yes

Why would/wouldn't you buy it again?

Absolutely would buy again. Not a lot of options for larger vehicles in this price range. If I could afford more, I would consider a hybrid version.
