I needed a basic car to go back and forth to work...about 30 km for a return trip. It has been a lovely car to drive and I would buy it again if I had to.
What were your initial thoughts about the car? Tell us why it appealed to you.
I looked at a Suzuki Swift and the Mazda 2. I decided on the Mazda because the reviews I read about it were more positive. Petrol mileage was good. It had everything I needed in a car and I didn't need a lot of bells and whistles.
What have you discovered since owning the car?
Very economical to drive. Road noise can be a bit overwhelming when going over 60 k/hr. Maintenance issues are minimal. I had to replace tyres, battery, and the air conditioner condenser.
What do you like/dislike about the car?
Air conditioner quits cooling when car is stopped....just blows air. This can be a pain when traffic is heavy. Also, rear seatbelts had to be repaired.

Why would/wouldn't you buy it again?
Mazda cars are very dependable and less expensive than some competitors e.g., Toyota and Honda. I think Mazda offers more value for the money. I would surely buy another one.
