What were your needs when you bought this car? Has it fulfilled those needs?

We needed a vehicle that was reasonably peppy, a mid-size hatch, with a comfortable interior and a smooth ride, economical, and reliable. We do use it to carry a range of bulky luggage, having had station wagons vans and utes at times.

What were your initial thoughts about the car? Tell us why it appealed to you.

I was seriously considering a hybrid to give good economy, yet with a reliable range for our regular travel. But in the end there are too many uncertainties with second-hand hybrids and their life expectations. Toyotas are well established for reliability but they lacked either the comfort and finish or the usable size of the hatch. Eventually we found the Honda HR-V as a great compromise

What have you discovered since owning the car?

We love the size and comfort. It is quite quiet and more peppy that our previous 2l car. it is also more economical than the advertised economy figures, averaging 18km/l over the last 4000km. The general storage and flexibility of use suits us well.

What do you like/dislike about the car?

In general we are very happy with the car. It doesn't have as many mod cons as some, but I prefer to be fully in control when I am driving as it is easy to become complacent in reliance on the warning/management systems some cars offer.

Any other comments on the car?
