What were your needs when you bought this car? Has it fulfilled those needs?
Farm ute and family car. Used to cart 2 dirt bikes and 3 men from one end of the country to the other and back. Now done 335,000 km's and counting doing so. Also used to tow bags of fertilizer, up to 3 ton. Used to go shopping. Used to tow a horse float. Now gets used to cart e-bikes to some of the great NZ trail rides like the West Coast Wilderness or the Waikato River Trail.
What were your initial thoughts about the car? Tell us why it appealed to you.
It was big, powerful, and comfortable. Plus it looked good. Loved the 6 speed auto which was relatively new in 2012. Great to drive.
What have you discovered since owning the car?
That not only Toyota can build a reliable Ute. We've had very little trouble for our 335,000 k's. Nothing major mechanically has gone wrong.
What do you like/dislike about the car?
Power, and now that I used Mikey Thompson tyres, the handling. Suspension is a little harsh with no weight in the tray but I get round that by running lower tyre pressures.
Any other comments on the car?
Love Toyota's, I have a Prado, and a 1982 Hilux that's been in the family since new which I'm going to restore. But it'll be hard to replace the Ranger with anything other than a Ranger when the time comes.

Lastly, would you buy this vehicle again?
Yes
Why would/wouldn't you buy it again?
Been a good reliable truck that has carted a family of 5 though their teenage years of dirt biking and horse riding. Powerful yet economical. Comfortable yet particle. Well done Ford.
