I needed a car that balanced family practicality with real performance, something quick, spacious, and modern that could handle both daily driving and long trips with the kids. The Sportstourer VZ has definitely fulfilled those needs. Itʼs a genuinely versatile car that feels just as comfortable on the open road as it does doing school runs.
What were your initial thoughts about the car? Tell us why it appealed to you.
My first thoughts were how sharp and aggressive it looks without being over the top. The interior and tech stood out straight away, and the long list of features made it feel like great value. The AWD system, Engine power, and wagon practicality were exactly what I wanted in one package
What have you discovered since owning the car?
Iʼve learned just how capable and well-rounded it really is. The car feels planted and predictable, the DSG shifts smoothly, and itʼs surprisingly efficient for the performance it offers. I also discovered how good the sound system is crisp, punchy, and especially great once the EQ is dialled in. The amount of features packed into the car continues to surprise me, even after long-term ownership.
What do you like/dislike about the car?
Likes:
- Strong, effortless acceleration
- AWD traction and great handling
- Very practical wagon layout
- Comfortable for everyday driving and long trips
- Modern feature-packed interior
- Excellent sound system (especially with custom EQ)
- Cupra service has been great—quick, helpful, and smooth when getting work done like servicing or replacing brakes
Dislikes:
- Infotainment can be quirky at times
- Touch sliders arenʼt the most intuitive
- Exhaust note could be louder from factory
Any other comments on the car?
Overall, the 2022 Cupra Leon Sportstourer VZ is one of the best all-round cars Iʼve owned. It delivers performance, space, comfort, and features in a way that few cars in this price range can match. Cupraʼs servicing and support have also been excellent whenever work has been needed.
If youʼre after a fast, practical family car with plenty of tech and personality, the VZ Sportstourer is hard to beat.

I would buy the Cupra Leon Sportstourer VZ again because itʼs one of the few cars that genuinely does everything well; Performance, safety, comfort for long work trips, and enough space for family life. Itʼs been reliable, fun to drive, and great value for what it offers.
