What were your needs when you bought this car? Has it fulfilled those needs?
Less fuel consumption. Reliability was paramount. Better technology. Yes, it has fulfilled the needs we required. It’s essentially a performance vehicle that has a Hybrid power drive train when activated. Shortly after we brought it, we did a 2100km road trip holiday with it. It drove and performed well returning an average of 5l/100km thanks to the Hybrid technology.
What were your initial thoughts about the car? Tell us why it appealed to you.
The fact that its a BMW as we have owned others in the past was the first reason and the next obvious thing was thats its a Performance vehicle with a Hybrid Power system in it. It’s a joy to drive spiritedly or just to use as a daily commuter both of which it is used for.
The onboard computer system. All pre trip checking is done daily through the engine management system. All fluid levels including wiper washers for the lights, diff oil and air in tyres.
What i like about the car is the simplicity of it. They are not as complicated as one might think they are. My dislike is the tyres. Run flat tyres aren’t meant for New Zealand roads. They ride so hard on our Chipsealed highways.
Any other comments about the car?
I advise everyone who asks us about our car, if youre going to buy a European car, buy a comprehensive warranty with it as well. We have done this with every car, not just European, since their inception. Value for money.

Why would/wouldn't you buy it again?
Id like to buy the next model if I could. Why?, because its BMW. They’re a great car that as long as you treat them right, they’ll treat you right.
