What were your needs when you bought this car? Has it fulfilled those needs?

In 2010 I was ultimate winner of the Wellington Cup Fashion in the Field, the first ever male to do so. The first prize was a years use of the BMW. At the time I was driving a Mitsubishi Evolution X that I had bought brand new so I had no real need for the BMW

What were your initial thoughts about the car? Tell us why it appealed to you.

A beautiful looking car with real presence. Loved its muscular lines. I have a favourite photo if you're interested. The car was three years old but had been a promotional vehicle and had a nominal mileage.

What have you discovered since owning the car?

That it delivered power from its 3 litre engine in a different way (better) than the Evo. It was nice to drive with the top down, had a decent sized boot for a car of its type and could fit two average sized adults in the rear without too much discomfort. It was more practical than one might expect.

What do you like/dislike about the car?

When my years use of the car was about to expire I decided I wanted to buy it and negotiated this with the dealership. I was able to sell my Evo to a friend. Additionally only once did I have to pay for the BMW's service. The only dislike was the windscreen wipers squealed when in use and the problem never got resolved.

Any other comments on the car?

I sold it in 2017, only because it was 10 years old and I like to drive late model cars. The dealership that traded it was able to onsell it quickly.

Lastly, would you buy this vehicle again?

Yes

Why would/wouldn't you buy it again?

The 135i convertible sedan was rare and a directly comparable model is not available. I guess the closest is the 235i but its a hard top and I prefer the soft top. I couldn't afford a new 235i but if a good late model one presented itself who knows?
