The next-generation Renault Megane has been spotted while undergoing testing in Europe.

Even though the hatchback seen here is clad head-to-toe in camouflage, it’s clear that the new Megane will sport the company’s latest design language, which we’ve already seen on the Espace people mover.

Along the sides there’s an upswept window line and chunky rear pillar, but it’s hard to make out too much of the car’s finer styling details due to all disguise applied to the prototype.

The model pictured here seems to be, at least, a moderately sporty version as it rides on low profile alloy wheels.

As well as an all-new and seemingly more stylish body, the next-generation Megane will also utilise the new modular CFM1 platform that’s been co-developed with alliance partner Nissan.

We’ve already seen the front- and all-wheel drive architecture in action underneath the Espace and Kadjar, as well as theNissan Qashqai and X-Trail. CFM1 will also turn up beneath the skin of the SUV that replaces the Koleos, as well as thesingle model that supercedes both the Latitude and Laguna.

It’s been confirmed that the new Megane will make its debut at the 2015 Frankfurt motor show, which takes place in September. Rumours are that a wagon version will surface around six months later
