The second-ever turbocharged Lexus model - the all-new Lexus RX200t - has been uncovered at the 2015 Shanghai auto show. The Lexus RX - which was revealed in production guise at the recent New York auto show - was given its turbocharged debut at the Chinese mega show alongside the updated Lexus ES luxury sedan. It's powered by the same 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine which is also seen in the NX200t - producing 175kW and 350Nm - and will replace the RX270 model, which in the current model is powered by a 2.7-litre four-cylinder producing 138kW/252Nm. The 2.0-litre turbo will come paired to a standard six-speed automatic, and will likely be offered in front- or all-wheel drive guises as is the case with the NX. "Compared to the current-generation RX270, you'll notice that a major appeal point of the RX200t is its ability to deliver seamless and continuous acceleration up to the mid- to high-speed range," said RX chief engineer Takayuki Katsuda.
