- Shooting brake-style model announced for export markets.
- Based on Zeekr 7X platform, but faster-accelerating and faster-charging.
- Longer and much lower than 7X, 456 litres cargo capacity.
Zeekr has launched its sleek-looking 7GT in Europe. With claims from British media that's it's also set for right-hand drive and a UK launch, that opens up the possibility of seeing it in southern hemisphere markets... including New Zealand.
While the 7GT is new for export, it's not strictly new: it's been available in China for a year as the 007 GT. It's a longer, lower and more sporting version of the 7X SUV just launched in NZ (read our full review here), with distinct station wagon/shooting brake vibes - although it's more about style than sheer loadspace. Think Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo at the fraction of the price.
At 4817mm the 7GT is 30mm longer than the 7X, but also a whopping 200mm lower - hence the menacing profile. Zeekr claims 456 litres of cargo space... which is actually less than the 7X. But just look at it.
The platform and core technology are familiar from the 7X, including the 75kW and 100kWh batteries and choice of RWD or dual-motor AWD.
However, the 7GT is even faster than the 7X Performance to 100km/h (3.3 seconds versus 3.8) and the maximum charging rate has been further increased to a dizzying 480kW, meaning 340km of range in just 10 minutes - dependent on suitable infrastructure, of course.
