Today is Halloween, and you my dear reader are most likely either one of two people.

You're either the type that's joyously preparing a sugary feast for the local children, set to come around door knocking in a mere few hour's time. Or, you're the type that leaves the front door emphatically bolted shut and the television turned up all the way to 11.

The real meaning of Halloween, a bit like Christmas, has been swept under the rug somewhat. Perhaps because the kids who celebrate these things in 2017 don't care in the slightest. Nonetheless, the day remains celebrated in New Zealand via terrible food, awkward corporate festivities, and the celebration of scariness.

To that final point, this modified Ferrari 488 is perhaps one of the scariest cars to ever wear the Prancing Horse.

If you're a fan of the Italian marque, you could well be familiar with the wild, over the top kit. It's by Mansory of course; a company with a track record of taking already stupendous cars and doubling their visual insanity.

It's called the 4XX Sircasua kit. Released to the market last year, the intricate additions give the normally svelte 488 a swag of new vents and fins, including a rear wing that make the car look like it's got ears.

All of this is constructed out of carbon fibre, so you know at least that the car won't have much in the way of additional weight. Forgiato Tec 24 wheels and Pirelli P Zero shoes complete the look, and imply that the performance side of the red beast remains intact.

The Ferrari Built by Arizona tuning company Creative Bespoke, the wild 488 will make a public debut at SEMA, which begins later this week in Las Vegas.

Placed in the prim and proper world of Ferrari anorakism, it would likely cause multiple furrowed brows. But at SEMA it will help bring the house down.

In a good way.
