It’s the world’s largest car show and the motoring world — including yours truly — has turned up in force in Frankfurt, Germany, this week with a number of concepts to be revealed.

Officially called the Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung (IAA), some 881,100 visitors are expected to check out more than 1000 exhibitors at the two-yearly event.

The show officially opened last night NZ time, with BMW Group first to kick off with the recently launched 7 Series, Mini Clubman and Rolls-Royce Dawn.

Other local heroes include Mercedes-Benz’s S-Class convertible and C-Class Coupe, while the company will also show the GLC crossover.

Opel has the all-new Astra on display — follow us on driven.co.nz as we drive it in Austria later in the week — while Audi shows off the much-anticipated A4 sedan.

Audi will also show the concept e-tron Quattro while the supercars include the Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo, Lamborghini’s Huracan Spyder and Maserti’s Levanti luxury SUV.

The 66th IAA runs until September 27.
