For the first time New Zealanders can get up close to the advanced engineering employed by Honda in their extraordinary RC213V MotoGP Double World Championship winning bike at Big Boys Toys 2015 when it opens tomorrow - 30 October – 1 November at the ASB Showgrounds, Greenlane, Auckland.
The Honda features the most cutting-edge motorcycle technologies as Honda strives to stay ahead of the competition on track. Anti-lock brakes, anti-wheelie, traction and launch control barely scratch the surface of this silicon and titanium testament to racing perfection.
The Honda RC213V has been fine-tuned and tested during the outstanding success of the brilliant young Spanish racer Marc Marquez. Marquez has already won two successive MotoGP World Titles, 2013 and 2014 in his debut in the ultra-competitive sport that is hotly contested by the world’s biggest names in motorcycles.
The Honda has broken lap records around the world under Marquez, who also set the fastest-ever recorded speed in MotoGP at 350.5 kmph (218.7 mph). MotoGP bikes out-accelerate even the latest Formula One cars.
Marquez’s team-mate Dani Pedrosa, also from Spain, runs a near-identical machine during the MotoGP series under the racing number 26. Marquez has made his #93 famous throughout the world with his radical elbows down riding style and power-sliding cornering technique.
The Driven Hall this year is an automotive nirvana, featuring an outstanding display of dream and ultra-exotic cars and motorcycles from leading manufacturers, with the return of the New Zealand Motorcycle show as part of the Big Boy’s Toys show.
