About a month ago, Dodge revealed the Charger widebody concept at Springfest 14, and it looks like Dodge is pushing on with the project.

Spotted on a commercial shoot over the weekend, the Charger looks a lot different to the SRT-covered car that we saw during Springfest.

Though it isn't the greatest piece of cinematography, the car's widened fenders and updated bumpers are visible in the short Instagram clip. A ventilated rear-fascia, dual exhaust system, and a trunk-mounted spoiler also feature.

Surprisingly, Dodge has remained reasonably tight-lipped about the whole project, and haven't released any details at all. If it was following in the Challenger's widebody footsteps, the model will be 89mm wider than the standard car.

20-inch wheels that are wrapped in 305/35 tyres are also standard on the widened Challenger.

There have been rumours of both Scat Pack and SRT Hellcat models of the wide Charger thrown around, but Dodge haven't made any efforts to confirm or deny these. If this is the case, the entry-level car will come equipped with the 6.4-litre V8 that produces 361kW and 643Nm of torque, while the other model will have the iconic 707hp (527kW) supercharged 6.2-litre V8.

As you would expect, Dodge has said anything in the way of pricing for the two models.

While there isn't a confirmed release date, reports have suggested that the Widebody Charger will be unveiled at Woodward Dream Cruse later this year.
