In New Zealand, McLaren owners were the most hapless of 2017 — having been involved in a number of high-profile crashes.
In the US, Ford Mustang and Lamborghini owners are the ones that copped it most on the chin.
Two Lambo owners, perhaps believing that it was too late in the year to get sucked into such chaos, attended a recent invitational drag-racing event in Texas; driving a Gallardo Superleggera and Huracan respectively.
But despite the event's apparent safety measures, both drivers found themselves experiencing spectacular high-speed incidents at an estimated 200mp/h (320km/h).
The Gallardo's spin took place on a solo run; the car veering left relatively early on a quarter-mile run. The Huracan meanwhile (rumoured to be packing about 1,400kW) lost control after crossing the finish line (the driver's rival suffering an engine failure simultaneously in their Nissan GT-R).
The two spills can be seen in the clip above, at 4min 47sec and 8min 55sec respectively — interlaced with footage of all the other exotic machines present and active at the drag event.
Despite the rough infield surface, neither driver's Lambo dug into the surface and rolled over; an incredible feat of luck given how low-slung each car is and how quick they were moving.
