One must wonder just how many ultra-fast four-wheeled machines one man must eliminate from this earth before people stop trusting such vehicles being in their possession.
Richard Hammond, buddy, friend ... please stop hurting cars. Please.
The former Top Gear host and current The Grand Tour host recently tested the McLaren 720S as part of season two of the latter's silver screen creations.
Now, Hammond has a quite clear track record. First to face his wrath was The Vampire — a dragster that almost took Hammon with it. Then more recently one of Rimrac's rare Concept One EV supercars met a similar fate.
Now in the latest episode of TGT the team have revealed that Hamster clocked not one, but two supercars over the course of the season.
Admittedly, it perhaps wasn't his own fault. For one, it didn't come off any driving errors. And for two, the silly-in-hindsight drama implies that someone in the TGT made one of the cardinal sins of motoring.
With the 720S running low on petrol during the team's review video shoot, Hammond (as explained in the clip) tried to be helpful by topping up the car's fuel tank with a nearby petrol can.
Which naturally was fulled with water.
The car's engine naturally stopped a few takes later, forcing the team (and most likely McLaren) to conjure up a second 720S out of thin air to complete the shoot.
Hammond's award for the feat? An enormous tank of water of course.
