"Don't turn the traction control off!!"
What is it that makes motorsport better than every other sport on the planet? The cars and technology? The community? The rivalry?
Nope. It's the fact that anyone can strap themselves in next to a talented racer and experience their g-forces, their feats of talent. Most of the world will never know what it feels like to be a top flight athlete in football or rugby or ... darts.
But, a hot lap sharing the same rolling metal cage as a talented driver performing on the limit? Far more doable.
Granted, the chances of scoring a hot lap in anything with three-time Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton are admittedly slim. Though, that wasn't the case for fellow world champ Usain Bolt.
The recently retired running man was one of Mercedes-Benz's guests of honour at last weekend's Circuit of the Americas F1 event in Austin, and became a willing (?) participant in a flying lap around the track with Hamilton and the new Mercedes-AMG GTR.
It's a cracking video full of marvelous reactions from the typically cool-as-chilled-cucumber athlete, and yet another example of Liberty's positive impact on Formula 1's embrace of social media. Check it out in full above.
