Viral gaming meets 'The Green Hell' in a video that could only happen in 2016

Pokémon Go has become one of those pop culture things that people love to hate, jostling for position between the Kardashians and Nickelback

Unless you live under a rock, or in Gore (I'm kidding, we love you Gore!), you'll be well aware of the fact that the recently launched game app has swept the world — New Zealand included. Why? Well there's several reasons. For many it's their first taste of augmented reality gaming, where cute little digital characters on a screen appear to share the same space as reality. The biggest reason though is how it triggers nostalgia feels among many a 20-something, which explains why such a large percentage of those using the app are ... 'old'.

In some ways, YouTube's Boosted Boris is probably a perfect example of the typical Pokémon Go player. Old mate decides to take his Pokémon skills to the Nürburgring Nordschleife — with surprisingly potent results.

Lapping the circuit in the passenger seat of the Nürburgring Ring Taxi — or, the Poké Taxi as it's labelled in the video — Boris catches a variety of Pokémon. His charming adaptation of Krabby to 'Krabitalist' is alone worth the wait.

What a time to be alive.

Anyone who does this while driving is an imbecile.
