The bad news is that all versions of the Volkswagen ID.Buzz EV for New Zealand have six-figure price tags, even the Cargo van. The good news is that we're getting a multi-layered range... including the go-fast GTX AWD.

The retro-themed ID.Buzz will be here in June, but local importer European Motor Distributors has released pricing and specification ahead of time... perhaps to help potential customers start saving.
ID.Buzz comes in four variants and two wheelbase sizes: the Pro NWB (normal wheelbase), Pro LWB (long wheelbase), the high-performance GTX (also on the LWB platform), and Cargo commercial van (NWB, payload 707kg).
Shared across the $129,990 Pro and $114,990 Cargo NWB models is an 84kWh (79kWh usable) battery and rear-mounted single electric motor, with 210kW/560Nm. Range is 382km (3P-WLTP).

The $139,990 long-wheelbase Pro and $149,990 GTX have a larger 91kWh (86kWh usable) battery. The Pro LWB retains the 210kW single motor and offers 403km, while the GTX adds a front motor for a total of 250kW and 134Nm (front)/560Nm (rear). The GTX has a range of 396km.
The interior offers flexible seating options with 5, 6, or 7-seat configurations. The “Ready 2 Discover” infotainment system includes a 12.9-inch touchscreen and wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto.

The ID.Buzz passenger variants come standard with front seats that feature a massage function. The ID.Buzz Box - a removable compartment between the front seats - provides extra storage space.
The Pro versions ride on 19-inch wheels, while the GTX gets serious-looking 21in rims. There are multiple different styles for each.
There are also some bold exterior hues, the 13-colour chart including six different retro-look two-tone finishes. Among them are Candy White combined with Leaf Green or Polemo Yellow, and Mono Silver with Cherry Red.
