It just wouldn’t be right if we didn’t finish off the week at DRIVEN.CO.NZ with a supercar crash, so we present to you the case of the fleeing Aston Martin Vanquish Volante driver.

Victoria Police report that a woman was driving the silver V12-powered Vanquish convertible just past midnight yesterday morning, when she lost control turning left and crashed into a tram station bollard in the centre of the road. Hard thing to manage, that turning left challenge.

Authorities say the woman fled the scene after the crash, leaving the 27-year-old male passenger, who is understood to be the owner of the Vanquish, in the car. He was left behind, are you ready for it: 'Waiting for a mate'… that's Friday comedy gold, right there, thank you very much.

None of this ‘it’ll buff out’ this time malarkey, with the front end of the half-a-million dollar Supercar caved in from the fairly well grounded bollard. Here’s hoping the mid-front mounted V12 engine at least escaped unscathed. So much for two months of lockdown-low insurance premiums and rebates

Missed the news earlier this week when Top Gear crashed a Diablo, when it was being compared with a Ferrari F40 and Jaguar XJ200? Of course you didn’t, because if you got this far, you’re a true supercar crash junkie. Go on, read it again, just because. And drive safe, especially if you’re in a supercar, because DRIVEN is watching. Until 5pm, then we're off.
