For more than a decade now the blockbuster Transformers franchise from director Michael Bay has enthralled audiences with its fleet of high-end performance cars and epic robot battles. These stories were engrossing, loaded with action and contained plenty of heart and there was no better way to experience this magnificent saga than on the IMAX screen.
Now in celebration of the impending release of the fifth film in the saga, Transformers: The Last Knight, IMAX are celebrating their ten-year partnership with the franchise in an awesome new featurette which offers us our first look at the new film.

This new featurette offers plenty of insight into the importance that the Transformers franchise has played in building the appreciation of the IMAX format with IMAX CEO Greg Foster saying "Transformers has been a giant part of our brand and it helped build IMAX."
The cinematic medium's grand technology is now being used to help director Michael Bay realise his vision for Transformers: The Last Knight which stars Mark Wahlberg and Sir Anthony Hopkins. Bay has also taken the unprecedented move of shooting the film’s high-speed car chases in real time using IMAX 3D, which until now has never been done before.
All of this promises some pretty epic vehicular action when Transformers: The Last Knight is released in NZ cinemas next year on June 22, 2017.
