- Mercedes-AMG Concept AMG GT Track Sport is a V8-powered model developed exclusively for circuit use.
- The new concept is designed to achieve peak dynamic performance and aims to set track record lap times.
- Mercedes-AMG has not disclosed specifications, production plans or release timing yet.
The GT family isn’t done yet, and Mercedes-AMG just teased its most uncompromising member to date.
Enter the Concept AMG GT Track Sport, a V8-powered beast-in-progress that’s being sharpened behind closed doors in Affalterbach.
Race ready, road forbidden
While the name suggests track antics, this is no thinly veiled road car. The Concept AMG GT Track Sport is purpose-built for the circuit, with Mercedes-AMG openly stating it’s designed for “absolute driving dynamic peak performance” and to “set new standards and record times.”
If that doesn’t hint at Nurburgring ambitions, we’re not sure what does.
It’s currently under camouflage as final tweaks are made before it hits the test track - likely the prelude to a limited-run production model aimed at well-heeled track-day warriors.
The GT family grows teeth
This new track-special arrives as Mercedes-AMG expands the second-generation AMG GT lineup, first launched in 2023.
While existing variants balance road comfort with performance, the Track Sport appears to be shedding civility in favour of raw aggression. A V8 is confirmed, though exact specs are under wraps.
No surprise that the brand is leaning into its motorsport roots again. The press material calls it a “sports car concept born in Affalterbach,” echoing the handmade AMG tradition that continues to lure purists.
What we know (and what we don’t)
Aside from teaser imagery and bold promises, Mercedes-AMG has kept most details close to the chest. The brand has not disclosed outputs, kerb weight or production intentions yet.
Still, the direction is clear: the GT Track Sport is about chasing lap times. And for fans of AMG’s more feral offerings, that’s very good news indeed.
