When the RAV4 launched earlier this month, we assumed that the Adventure model was the most outlandish that Toyota would get with the SUV — but we were wrong.
TRD, or Toyota Racing Development, have released a bunch of accessories including styling kits, performance parts, and roof racks that completely overhaul the look of the RAV4.
When designing their accessories, TRD decided that they wanted to give it two different personalities, the 'Street Monster', and the 'Field Monster'.
Based on the Adventure model, the 'Field Monster' takes the adventure aspects of the SUV, and turns them up to eleven. Featuring widened wheel arches, 17-inch wheels with offroad tyres, mud flaps, and TRD side decals, it looks like it'd be right at home in the field.
Heading in completely the other direction is the 'Street Monster', which looks like it'd be right at home in the Tokyo Drift carpark. Extending the side skirts and featuring sportier bumpers, the accessories give it an extremely aggressive look. In this configuration, you won't be leaving the tarmac very often as the SUVonly sits 121mm off the ground.
If you aren't a fan of the whole kit, Toyota Racing Development does offer every single item individually.
Alongside the two options from TRD, Modellista also designed a road-going and an offroad accessory package. Much like the TRD options, the kits include redesigned bumpers, skirts and wheels. And while their off-road model looks extremely capable of tackling nature, you'd be wary of steep driveways while driving the street model.
While the street models refresh the looks of the sporty SUV, it's definitely the two offroad variants that we have our eyes on.
