The world needs more station wagons.
Not only are they just as practical and spacious as the average crossover (you know, the ones that never go off-road), but they're also generally much better to drive due to their lower centre of gravity.
Here is the new Toyota Corolla Touring Sports — an 'estate car' in Europe-speak — and it's an unlikely starter for the Kiwi market.

Unveiled overnight, the Touring Sports will debut at October's Paris Motor Show in preparation for its release to the European market.
It sports an elongated 2700mm wheelbase, which grows its second-row leg-room to huge proportions and adds up to 598L of storage capacity.
Engines kick off with a turbocharged, 86kW 1.2-litre four pot petrol. That's supported by two hybrid options; a 91kW 1.8-litre unit and a 134kW 2.0-litre unit.
Now, Toyota New Zealand does currently bring in a Corolla wagon (along with the sedan). But there's no indication that this European-spec wagon will be its replacement.
Note that the Kiwi wagons were developed in Japan, while this newly revealed model was developed in Belgium. Note too that Toyota Australia have confirmed that it has no plans to bring the 'Rolla wagon in.
The Kiwi launch of the new Toyota Corolla is coming this month, and we'll find out more about whether this wagon is set to join our line-up.
