Sixteen new episodes of Top Gear to screen from May
Chris Evans has finally revealed the date fans can expect Top Gear's return.
The Radio 2 breakfast show presenter revealed that the rebooted version of the hit show will debut on Sunday May 8.
He revealed the air date during an interview with chef James Martin on BBC One's Saturday Kitchen.
The first show will come just three days after filming is wrapped on May 5.

Explaining how the new team are 'already started making the films', and added: 'We're going to America to make our first inter-continental in January.'
However, the 49-year-old did not disclose any information about co-presenters.
There will be 16 episodes when the new incarnation of Top Gear is broadcast on BBC Two next year.
Though names including Jodie Kidd and Zoe Ball have been linked to the reboot, Evans has previously suggested that he may even fly solo when the programme returns.
Speaking to the Press Association, he explained: 'We are going to do things differently, because we have to, we want to.
'And also, the second you wander off into the "Well, I’m the main host, and this is my mate over here and my mate over here, if there’s three of you and you go and make a film together, suddenly you’re doing what they did. Why would you do that?
'Because they were brilliant at it, I’m not going to do that.
'So, one thing is for sure, there’s not going to be me and one guy there, and one guy there, that’s not going to happen.'
Meanwhile, former presenters Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May took to the stage for the last time on their current tour at London's O2 on Saturday night.
The much-loved petrol heads have been thrilling their fans with motoring mayhem and mischief during Clarkson, Hammond and May Live.
After 19 countries, 32 cities and 2.2 million visitors, their world tour comes to an end with their third night in the capital.
The London shows boasts highlights including James Bond's Aston Martin DB10 and a Porsche 918.
Clarkson was sacked from Top Gear in March following a "fracas" with the show's producer.
Since the incident, the former Top Gear trio have gone on to sign a deal for a new Amazon Prime motor show with a reported budget of £160 million.
